Will Malachi Moore play for Alabama football vs Georgia? Kalen DeBoer gives Crimson Tide injury updates
Ahead of Alabama football vs. Georgia Saturday, coach Kalen DeBoer gave updates on the status of safety Malachi Moore and linebacker Qua Russaw, who were both injured during the Crimson Tide's 42-10 win against Wisconsin Sept. 14.
Prior to the start of the 2024 season, the SEC instituted that teams must publicize injury reports starting Wednesday night before a Saturday conference game. Updates will be submitted Thursday and Friday before a final report is released 90 minutes before kickoff.
No. 4 Alabama will take on No. 1 Georgia at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ABC.
Here's the latest on Russaw, Moore and other Alabama players navigating injuries.
Qua Russaw injury update
DeBoer said Monday that Russaw (lower leg) is "still taking the steps, still working through the situation." He said he's "optimistic."
Russaw left Alabama's win against Wisconsin late in the second quarter after his left ankle was rolled over by a teammate. He did not return.
Malachi Moore injury update
Moore (head) should be back against Georgia, per DeBoer.
"It was just a matter of time," DeBoer said.
Moore left Alabama's win against Wisconsin after DeBoer said the safety "got hit in the head." Moore was "still going through protocol" during Alabama's off week.

Richard Young injury update
Young (lower leg) is "working back slowly," DeBoer said Monday.
Young left Alabama's win against Wisconsin with what DeBoer described as a lower-leg injury similar to Russaw.
Cole Adams injury update
Adams (arm) is practicing ahead of the Georgia game per DeBoer.
"We're just working him back slowly," DeBoer said.
DeBoer said Adams took "positive steps" toward a return at the start of Alabama's off week.
