The Miami Dolphins signed their franchise quarterback to a four-year contract extension worth $212.4 million with $93.2 million guaranteed. The No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft will be with the team through at least 2026 with options through 2028.
Tagovailoa led the NFL with 4,624 passing yards in 2023, throwing 29 touchdowns (tied for fifth) and 14 interceptions (tied for fourth). In his four-year career, he has passed for 12,639 yards, 81 TDs and 37 INTs. Since becoming the full-time starter in 2021, Tagovailoa is 11th in passing yards, 10th in yards per game, 10th in touchdowns and tied for eighth in interceptions, according to StatMuse. With Tyreek Hill and a bevy of speedy weapons around him, Tagovailoa has led the Dolphins to the playoffs twice, but they've yet to win a game (Tagovailoa missed the playoffs after the 2022 season because of an injury).

The Madden 25 worldwide release is Friday, August 16. Those who preorder the Deluxe Edition or who ordered the MVP Bundle will have access Tuesday, August 13.
