Macklin Celebrini Chose Boston University Because Of The NBA Finals

In an interview with the Empty Netters Podcast, San Jose Sharks center Macklin Celebrini explains why the NBA Finals influenced his decision to attend Boston University.

The Golden State Warriors played the Boston Celtics in the 2022 NBA Finals. Macklin's father, Rick, is employed by the Warriors and brought Macklin to Boston. During their trip, Macklin explained that he had visited BU, and his mind was made up after seeing the facility.

In the interview, the 2024 No. 1 pick explains that not many schools contacted him. He said that NCAA reigning champions Denver University never reached out.

Celerbini was the 2024 Hobey Baker Winner and did so as a 17-year-old. He is the youngest-ever winner of the award.

The Warriors have a special connection to Macklin Celebrini because of his father. Warriors forward Draymond Green attended the No. 1 pick's first career game.
