LSU women's basketball score at Georgia: Live updates

One more win and LSU women's basketball will clinch the No. 2 seed in next week's SEC Tournament in Greenville, South Carolina.

Finishing second in the conference behind Dawn Staley and No. 1 South Carolina has been No. 9 Tigers' goal since they gave the Gamecocks all they could handle inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center a few weeks ago but came up just short.

LSU (24-4, 11-3 SEC), riding a six-game win streak, can reach its adjusted goal with a victory at Georgia inside Stegeman Coliseum Thursday night (8 p.m., ESPN2).

Defense has led the way for the Tigers over the past six wins, holding teams to 66 points or less as well as below 39.9% shooting. Angel Reese continues to shine, putting up double-double after double-double.

Senior forward Javyn Nicholson leads the way for a struggling Georgia (12-15, 3-11) this season. She averages 16.7 points per game, which is eighth-best in the SEC. The Bulldogs did win their last game, a 76-60 victory over Florida at home.
