LSU women's basketball March Madness bracket predictions for 2024 NCAA Tournament

If the projections are any concrete indications, LSU women's basketball will be celebrating a top 8 overall national seed when the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee reveals the full 68-team bracket for March Madness during Selection Sunday tonight.

After closing out the 2023-24 regular season and a runner-up finish to No. 1 South Carolina at the SEC Tournament last week in Greenville, South Carolina, a combined 10-1, LSU (28-5) appears to be a lock for a No. 2 seed in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

The Tigers had been hovering for a few weeks along the 3-line but the strong finish to the season has prognosticators believing they've played their way up to the 2-line.

As Selection Sunday arrives, let's take one last look at where Kim Mulkey and LSU are predicted to land in March Madness:

ESPN: 2 seed (Portland 3)

The Tigers would open NCAA Tournament play against No. 15 Jackson State in Baton Rouge in Charlie Creme's bracketology. The winner of No. 7 Creighton and No. 10 Miami would await LSU in the second round. If the top seeds win the first two rounds, LSU would meet No. 3 UConn in the Sweet 16 in Portland.

Her Hoop Stats: 2 seed (Portland 2)

Her Hoop Stats bracketologist Megan Gauer agrees with Creme that LSU will land in one of the two Portland regions. In her prediction, the Tigers would face No. 15 Chattanooga in the first round and would play the winner of No. 7 West Virginia and No. 10 Michigan in the second. LSU could face No. 3 Notre Dame in the Sweet 16 in Portland.
