LSU football at South Carolina live updates: Tigers take on Gamecocks to open SEC play
COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Tigers are taking their show on the road to open up Southeastern Conference play in Week 3.
No. 16 LSU football (1-1) matches up with South Carolina (2-0) in its first SEC game on Saturday (11 a.m. CT, ABC).
The Tigers are coming off an uninspiring 44-21 victory over Nicholls in its home opener last week. Junior starting quarterback Garrett Nussmeier threw for career-high six touchdowns in the win. Receiver Kyren Lacy caught three of those six TDs.
South Carolina comes into today's game with more momentum. The Gamecocks won their conference opener last Saturday, dominating Kentucky, 31-6. The defense, which has scored three touchdowns through two games, scored on a pick-six at Kentucky last week.

Gamecocks cap a 13-play, 65-yard drive with a 28 yard field goal. Kinda feels like a small victory for LSU's defense there to hold South Carolina to three points.

This could be a swing play for the Tigers that they desperately need. South Carolina was driving again and Norris floated a deep ball out there. Alexander had plenty of time run underneath it and pick it off in the end zone to stop the bleeding in this first quarter.
