LSU football earns commitment from four-star safety C.J. Jimcoily
BATON ROUGE – LSU football landed the commitment of consensus four-star safety C.J. Jimcoily on Thursday afternoon.
Jimcoily, the Nashville, Tennessee native, chose the Tigers over Alabama, Stanford and Tennessee during a ceremony with his family and friends at Lipscomb Academy. Jimcoily's commitment is the third defensive back to pledge to LSU in the 2025 recruiting class along with five-star cornerback D.J. Pickett from Zephyrhills, Florida, and three-star safety Jhase Thomas from Destrehan.
"We're going to The Boot baby," Jimcoily said Thursday.
Per the 247Sports Composite, Jimcoily is the 32nd best safety prospect in his class and No. 348 overall recruit in the country.
It's well documented the struggles and the help that LSU needs in the defensive backfield and Brian Kelly and his defensive staff have attacked those positions in the 2025 recruiting cycle, but there's been some swinging and missing on some players. Winning the race for Jimcoily is a big boost for the Tigers.

LSU had been trending positively to land Jimcoily the past couple of weeks with most of the leading recruiting pundits predicting Kelly and company to land him.
Jimcoily released his top four schools in May and visited his four finalists during the official visit period in June. He was on campus in Baton Rouge on June 14-16.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound athlete has played both safety and cornerback during high school and has plenty of versatility to his game.
