LSU DT Jacobian Guillory suffers torn Achilles, out for season. What next for the Tigers?

BATON ROUGE – LSU football lost senior defensive tackle Jacobian Guillory to a season-ending injury in its 44-21 win over Nicholls Saturday night.

Guillory tore his Achilles, ending his senior season early, furthering an absolute brutal stretch of season-ending injuries for the Tigers (1-1), sources within the football confirmed to The Daily Advertiser.

The Alexandria native went down with a lower left leg injury early in the second quarter last night and was immediately taken in the medical tent on the sideline. Once he emerged, he was sat down in the wheelchair and had an air cast on his lower left leg.

After the Nicholls game, LSU coach Brian Kelly said that he hadn't received a report on Guillory and that he would need imaging done on his leg. Scans showed the worst for the defensive tackle and LSU with the Achilles tendon tear.

WHAT LSU NEEDS TO FIX 'Clock is ticking' for LSU football. What Tigers need to fix before South Carolina game

Last week, senior running back John Emery went down during practice with an ACL tear, a season-ending injury.

Depth was already a concern for the Tigers along the defensive line and the loss of Guillory is a major gut punch. The Tigers will have to now turn to freshman Ahmad Breaux, who did spell Guillory against Nicholls once he exited the game.

Breaux recorded a pair of tackles versus the Colonels. Division II transfer Jay'viar Suggs and Shone Washington, who both have played very little to this point in the season for the Tigers, will also now likely be called upon to play more snaps.
