LSU baseball opened up the season with a four-game sweep over VMI and Central Arkansas last weekend.

The No. 2 Tigers (4-0) won games in a variety of ways, from scoring a program-record 27 runs in a 27-5 victory over VMI on Sunday to needing saves from relievers in both games against Central Arkansas.

LSU coach Jay Johnson told reporters Wednesday the team will have a different starting rotation but that's not indicative to how any pitcher threw over opening weekend. He wants to get Gage Jump a start early this season against Northern Illinois to start another four-game, round robin set is a good spot Thursday (2 p.m., SEC Network+).

Opening Day starter junior Thatcher Hurd will pitch against Stony Brook in Game 2 on Friday and Luke Holman will go for LSU Saturday versus Northern Illinois.

Johnson said it's to be determined who will pitch for the Tigers in the series finale Sunday against Stony Brook.

The Huskies (1-3) won one game in a four-game set at Abilene Christian opening weekend, scoring 14 runs in the last game to salvage a win on Sunday.
