Louisville basketball names former NBA staffer as director of analytics, video technology
Gabe Snider, a former staffer with the NBA's New York Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks and Detroit Pistons, is joining the Louisville basketball staff as the program's director of analytics and video technology.
Snider spent the past two seasons as assistant director of video, player development and analytics with the New York Knicks, with whom Louisville head coach Kenny Payne worked as an assistant coach in 2020-21 and 2021-22 before leaving in March to take over the Cardinals.
“I am extremely excited to join Kenny and his all-star staff,” Snider said in a release. “I’ve witnessed his genuine passion and development of players in this game first-hand. I look forward to being a part of the reemergence of Louisville basketball.”

Snider spent a season as assistant video coordinator for the Milwaukee Bucks after one season as video coordinator for the Detroit Pistons. He spent three years as a graduate manager at Indiana, assisting with individual and group player skill workouts as well as team game plans and scouting reports for the Hoosiers.
A 2016 graduate of Illinois-Chicago, Snider played four seasons for the Flames and logged 80 career games. He averaged 11.1 minutes in his career, playing double-digit minutes per game in his sophomore and senior seasons, and was a career 39% 3-point shooter. He scored 5.9 points per game as a senior.
In his time with the Knicks, Snider logged video of team and opponent games for scouting purposes, produced individual player-specific videos to aid in player development, led individual workouts, analyzed data to aid in creation of scouting reports and oversaw the development of video coordinator interns.

“Gabe is one of the brightest young basketball minds in the game,” Payne said in a release. “He has an unbelievable feel for the game and for players, and is very professional and hard working. He is very astute in with game planning and strategies needed for preparing for opponents."
