A look at Oklahoma City's boys high school basketball Fab 10 rankings for Feb. 27

With Oklahoma high school basketball playoffs in full swing, the final edition of this year’s Fab 10 rankings are here.

The area playoffs kick off this week and will feature a host of highly anticipated rematches and star-studded matchups. Month-long week streaks are a threat to be broken as the stakes are as high as they've been all season long.

For the final week, The Oklahoman’s Jordan Davis looks at the top high school boys basketball teams in the Oklahoma City area.

Here are the rankings for Feb. 27:

1. Dale (26-2)

Last week: 1

Up next: Friday vs. Hobart at Chickasha

What to know: The two-time defending Class 2A champion Pirates continue to roll following regional wins over Elmore City-Pernell and Davis. OU commit Dayton Forsythe and his brother, Denton, have spearheaded Dale's quest for a third consecutive state title.

2. Edmond North (21-3)

Last week: 2

Up next: Friday vs. Moore at Shawnee

What to know: Big performances from Dylan Warlick and Chianté Tramble led the Huskies to a regional championship victory against Mustang. Edmond North hopes to repeat as Class 6A champions for the third year in a row, but a postseason rematch with a streaking Moore awaits them on Friday. The Lions are the only in-state team to defeat Edmond North since 2022.

3. Douglass (15-4)

Last week: 3

Up next: Friday vs. Anadarko at Henryetta

What to know: Douglass has dominated opposing teams all season, but the hammer has come down on foes even harder since the addition of Jaden Nickens. The Trojans have won 13 of its last 14 games and recently won a regional title with blowout wins over Sequoyah Claremore and Tecumseh.

4. Midwest City (22-3)

Last week: 4

Up next: Friday vs. Guthrie at Edmond North

What to know: The Bombers pose as Class 5A title favorites, as they're now 17-0 in the class. Four-star Oklahoma State commit Carlsheon Young led them to regional wins over El Reno and Western Heights.

5. Oklahoma Christian School (22-2)

Last week: 5

Up next: Friday vs. Mount St. Mary at Ada

What to know: The Luke Gray train is still rolling at OCS, and his output produces overwhelming results. The Saints have been on a tear, winning 17 of its last 18 games, including a 16-point regional championship win over Kingston.

6. Choctaw (20-4)

Last week: 6

Up next: Friday vs. Union at Sapulpa

What to know: Ja'Mon Valentine continues to shine for the Yellowjackets as the star guard is driven to make a run at the state title. Choctaw has won seven consecutive games and defeated Sand Springs on Friday to capture a regional championship.

7. Norman (20-4)

Last week: 7

Up next: Friday vs. Deer Creek at Noble

What to know: Six-foot-7 big man Trashaun Combs-Pierce continues to lead Norman to a slew of victories thanks to his anchoring defense in the paint. The Tigers extended its win streak to 15 games following a dominant regional win over Westmoore that clinched Norman's first 20-win season in over 20 years.

8. Moore (19-5)

Last week: 8

Up next: Friday vs. Edmond North at Shawnee

What to know: The Lions have won 15 consecutive games and don't seem to be slowing down after winning a regional title. However, they'll have the toughest test of the season in a rematch with two-time reigning 6A champion Edmond North, which they defeated two weeks ago. Expect Darian Grant and Tristan Hankins to continue to step up big.

9. Carl Albert (21-4)

Last week: 9

Up next: Friday vs. Crossings Christian at Piedmont

What to know: The Titans continue to defy the odds in Class 5A despite losing big man Jayden Mott weeks ago. Carl Albert showed its versatility out on the perimeter with regional wins over Noble and Elgin, and have won 17 of their last 18 games behind Quincy Hopkins.

10. Guthrie (22-3)

Last week: 10

Up next: Friday vs. Midwest City at Edmond North

What to know: The Bluejays are riding a five-game win streak heading into the area tournament following key regional wins over Shawnee and Guymon. Alex Clark, Braydon Morgan and Nate Benford continue to lead Guthrie's efforts as the Bluejays have dropped just two games to in-class opponents all season.

Outside looking in

Deer Creek (20-5): The Antlers stayed dangerous to opposing Class 6A competition with regional wins over Yukon and Norman North.

Crossings Christian (18-6): The Knights made up for district losses last week with a regional championship win against Del City. Crossings has showed reason to not count out its tandem of Cal Furnish in Cam Parker come playoff time.

Millwood (17-8): While OCS is the current favorite to win Class 3A, don't count out the two-time defending champion Falcons. Millwood has won six of its last seven games and is slated to receive additional help with the return of star sophomore guard Isaiah Wilks.

North Rock Creek (22-3): The Cougars have been on a tear over the last few weeks and recently defeated Stillwell for a regional title. They're led by Jordan McClain Jr. and have won 11 of its last 13 games.
