Lonzo Ball's new shoes have dropped, and they are ... something
Big day in the sneaker world, as Big Baller Brand has announced the latest version of Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball’s signature shoes:
JUST IN: @bigballerbrand drops price for second version of @ZO2_ sneakers. The 2.19’s are priced at $200, down from $495 for last year’s versions. pic.twitter.com/1xnqT6rytQ

These new ‘Zos will retail for $200, a 60 percent price cut from last year’s $495. And, in keeping with the cut-rate theme, here’s a cut-rate version of the classic Mars Blackmon-Michael Jordan Nike commercials:

… which is fine because nobody buying the Lonzos was alive to see the Jordan ads, or Jordan himself, in the first place.
Anyway, the ZO2s are likely to draw a bit of critical attention, to say the least. Granted, designing sneakers is tough work, and not everyone gets it right all the time. So we’re not going to say that these shoes look like a wrinkled Hawaiian shirt your dad wears on the third day of a Caribbean cruise. We’re not going to say they look like someone devoured an entire pumpkin of Halloween candy and threw it back up again. We’re not going to say they look like a kindergartner left a handful of crayons out on hot asphalt. And we’re definitely not going to say they look like the opening credits from “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” sweet-talked your grandmother’s mall-walkers into having a baby.
No, we’ll leave the critiques to you, dear reader. Have your say in the comments below.
