Starting lineups announced for Texas, Kansas State

In the Big 12 semifinals, the Longhorns will start Shaylee Gonzales, Shay Holle, Aaliyah Moore, Madison Booker and Taylor Jones against the Wildcats. This is the 12th time that Texas has used this starting lineup, and the Longhorns have won nine of the previous 11 times it started this lineup.

Kansas State will counter with a starting lineup that features Lee and veteran guards Jaelyn Glenn, Serena Sundell, Brylee Glenn and Gabby Gregory.

Homecourt advantage for Kansas State?

Even though the T-Mobile Center is technically a neutral site, Kansas State should attract more of its fans for this Monday matinee. Kansas City is just a 125-mile drive from Manhattan. Around 700 miles separate Kansas City and Austin.

Of the announced crowd of 6,610 that witnessed Kansas State's 65-62 win over West Virginia in Saturday's quarterfinal round, plenty were wearing purple. The following day, Texas center Taylor Jones said the Longhorns will need to make sure that the Wildcat fans don't become a factor.

"Any away game with big crowds is really fun," Jones said. "We have to make sure tomorrow that K-State doesn't get a lot of momentum so we can keep the crowd kind of quiet. And just making sure that we have the pace for the game because I remember when we were at K-State, there were a few times where they would go on runs and the arena was just insanely loud. Although we don't want to say it changes stuff, I feel like it can really rattle some people up."

In Big 12 Tournament games that have been played in Kansas City, Texas is 2-2 against Kansas State and 2-0 in games against Kansas. The Longhorns beat Kansas by 16 points in the Big 12 quarterfinals on Saturday.
