Lions vs. Bucs odds: Detroit opens as healthy favorite over Tampa Bay in NFL Week 2

The Detroit Lions are favored to repeat their 2023 playoff run to kick off the 2024 season.

The Lions as of Monday afternoon were a six-point favorite over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 2 according to BetMGM. Both teams are 1-0 after wins Sunday.

The Lions and Bucs met in the NFC divisional round playoffs at Ford Field last January, when Detroit held on for a 31-23 win to reach the NFC championship game.

The Lions finished off the NFL's Sunday Week 1 slate with a thrilling 26-20 overtime win over the Los Angeles Rams. The Lions forced overtime with a late field goal and then ran through the Rams defense on the only overtime possession as David Montgomery punched in the walk-off touchdown.

The Bucs blitzed the Washington Commanders on Sunday afternoon, 37-20, in Tampa, Florida, with Baker Mayfield throwing for 289 yards and four touchdowns. The defense limited Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels to 184 yards passing in his first career start.

The Lions have never started 2-0 in the previous three seasons under head coach Dan Campbell.

Campbell said the Lions played far from a perfect game Sunday against the Rams, and expects the team to continuously get better.

"This is our first taste," Campbell said postgame. "We’ll get better, we’ll get in a better flow on both sides of the ball. We will."
