Linus Lundqvist signs multi-year contract with Chip Ganassi Racing
Chip Ganassi Racing has signed Linus Lundqvist to a multi-year contract, the team announced Thursday.
“Joining Chip Ganassi Racing is an absolute dream come true for me,” Lundqvist said in a news release. “Stepping up to race full-time in the NTT IndyCar series, and to do so with one of the most successful teams in the history of the championship, is the moment I’ve been working for throughout my career.”
Lundqvist won the 2022 Indy Lights championship and has participated in three races this season with Meyer Shank Racing. He was in the top 12 of qualifying for his debut at Nashville but finished 25th after crashing with 10 laps to go. Lundqvist finished 12th at the IMS road course and 18th at WWT Raceway outside of St. Louis.

Lundqvist dominated the 2022 Indy Lights season, winning the championship by 92 points after delivering five wins, nine podiums and seven poles.
"This is an entirely new challenge as I prepare to join an established top team at the highest level of the sport," Lindqvist said in the news release. "Having a team like Chip Ganassi Racing put their trust in me is the greatest motivator I could ever have.”
Lundqvist, a Stockholm, Sweden native, won the 2020 Formula Regional Americas Championship, the 2018 BRDC British Formula 3 Championship and the 2016 Formula STCC Nordic Championship. He will be with the Chip Ganassi Racing team for the final two races of the season.
Marcus Ericsson, who won the 2022 Indianapolis 500 with the Ganassi team, is leaving for Andretti Autosport in 2023.
