Debating the value of Detroit Lions' first-round draft picks Jahmyr Gibbs, Jack Campbell

In every NFL city, there's the draft selection, and then there's the reaction. That's especially true in Detroit.

Perhaps even more so when the reaction is to a trade of the pick.

The Detroit Lions held the No. 6 pick in the NFL draft but at the last minute decided to trade it with the Arizona Cardinals, who earlier Thursday evening traded out of the No. 3 slot with Houston. The Lions could have drafted either defensive linemen Jalen Carter or Tyree Wilson, but passed on both by dealing the pick.

The Lions then TRULY astounded everyone and took Jahmyr Gibbs, a running back out of Alabama. It's safe to say with the constant debate over the value of running backs, the social media chatter about this pick won't be ending Thursday.

When the Lions came back around for their second pick of the night, you guessed it, there was another surprise. With the No. 18 pick, the Lions selected Jack Campbell, an inside linebacker from Iowa. Campbell was not one of the players who was projected to be selected by the Lions and many mock drafts had him listed lower than No. 18, which is a sure fire way to draw quite a few reactions.

Plus, similar to running back, inside linebacker is a position that carries a lot of debates over value.

It should be an interesting few days on social media.

Here is what Twitter and the social media world had to say about the Lions' big moves.
