Throughout the preseason, the Pittsburgh Steelers seemed to ignore the outside linebacker position. T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith have the starting spots locked down and form the most potent pass-rushing tandem in the NFL.

But aside from backup Nick Herbig the Steelers had nothing in terms of depth. Nevertheless, free agency and the NFL draft came and went and Pittsburgh never flinched.

This week, however, Pittsburgh finally made a move and they brought back former Steelers edge rusher Markus Golden. Re-signing Golden solidifies the depth chart and brings a guy back who already knows the system.

Golden is excited to come back to the Steelers for his tenth NFL season and is ready to contribute.

"I'm just happy to be here," said Golden. "Happy to be back with the Steelers. Man, I love playing here. To be able to do it another year. I'm excited.

"This is year 10. If I can get a little break and then come in and be able to fly around and be ready," Golden continued. "So, they kept in great contact with me. That's what I love about the Steelers, they kept in great contact with me. They said they were going to bring me in, and they made it happen and I appreciate it. I like this organization. I'm excited to be here."

Golden finished 2023 with four sacks despite no starts and only playing around 22 percent of the defensive snaps.
