Lakers call up 32-year-old G League veteran Andre Ingram for his first NBA action
G League veteran Andre Ingram got the call he’s waited 10 years for this week.
After grinding in the NBA’s minor league for 10 seasons, Ingram learned that he had earned a contract to play in purple and gold for the Los Angeles Lakers’ final two games.
He found out unexpectedly while doing an exit interview with the South Bay Lakers and was greeted by Los Angeles Lakers president Magic Johnson and general manager Rob Pelinka.
The Lakers took video of the moment and posted it on social media.

Ingram, 32, has made a G League record 713 3-pointers at a 46.1 percent clip over 384 games in the NBA’s developmental league. Injuries to Kyle Kuzma, Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram opened up roster room for the Lakers to call Ingram up.
Ingram will suit up for two games at Staples Center as the Lakers host the Rockets on Tuesday and are the visiting team against the Clippers for Wednesday’s season finale.
