Kyler Murray claims Instagram scrub 'had nothing to do with the Cardinals'
Kyler Murray would like you to know that everything is fine between himself and the Arizona Cardinals.
That time last month when he removed every image and mention of the Cardinals from his previously Cardinals-heavy Instagram page? That was just "a thing" that "a kid my age" does.
The Cardinals quarterback addressed the offseason melodrama with reporters Thursday in his first public statement directly addressing his prior passive aggression.

"If you're a kid my age, you're used to like — people take off — that's just a thing," Murray said when asked about the Instagram scrub during a media scrum at a charity event. "Honestly, like I said, I took everything off of it except for one picture. It had nothing to do with the Cardinals or anything like that."
Murray is entering his fourth season with the Cardinals, who selected him first overall in the 2019 draft. He's eligible for an extension on his rookie contract. So far there's no public indication of movement on that front from the Cardinals. General manager Steve Keim — who recently signed his own extension alongside head coach Kliff Kingsbury — declined to address the situation at the NFL scouting combine.
It has all led to speculation that Murray is unhappy in Arizona without the security of a new deal. His agent Erick Burkhardt all but confirmed it last week with a Twitter statement after the Las Vegas Raiders traded for wide receiver Davante Adams and signed him to a lucrative contract.
Wait, so you’re telling me teams w (already) paid QBs can also pay:
Highest paid WR, 2 highly paid DEs, one of highest paid OTs, highly paid TE, well paid RBs… and then also still REUP QB as one of the highest paid?! 🤔
It’s a CHOICE. A choice to TRY to win. Or not. #Commitment https://t.co/xmTPURqDle— Erik Burkhardt (@ErikBurkhardt) March 18, 2022
The Raiders have made multiple high-profile moves this offseason with quarterback Derek Carr playing on a five-year, $125 million contract.
Murray didn't want to talk about football Thursday. He didn't have much of a choice since he made himself available to media. When asked about his relationship with the Cardinals, he told reporters he's not "too worried."
"I'm an Arizona Cardinal," Murray said. "I've done nothing but give my all to the Cardinals. Will continue to do that. I'm not really too worried about my future with the Cardinals.
