Martin Truex Jr. took advantage of an apparent part failure on Brad Keselowski’s car with two laps to go to win Sunday at Las Vegas. And while Truex’s chase of Keselowski over the final few laps was dramatic, it was nothing compared to what happened after the race.

As Joey Logano and Kyle Busch raced for position in the top five, Logano got loose inside of Busch. Logano slid up and hit Busch, sending the No. 18 car spinning down pit road.

After Busch climbed from his car, he waited on pit road for Logano. And when he had his chance, he went after his former Joe Gibbs Racing teammate.

As Busch went up to Logano and started punching, Logano was pulled from the pile as members of Logano’s team had Busch in a headlock. Here’s video from Jeff Gluck:

Busch emerged worse for the wear too with a cut on his forehead.

“I got dumped, flat out just drove straight into the corner and wrecked me,” Busch said. He then followed with a threat of retribution.

“That’s how Joey races, so he’s going to get it.”

For his part, Logano said the two normally don’t have issues with one another on the track. He just simply tried to drive his car as hard as he could and didn’t have grip.

“There wasn’t much talking, just a lot of swinging,” Logano said of Busch. “I was racing hard there at the end … and Kyle and I usually race really well together, usually we don’t have any issues and he tried to pin me down into the corner underneath Brad and we both about crashed on entry and I was still trying to gather it up by the center and I was going to spin out so I’m trying to chase it up and he’s there. So obviously nothing intentional but he thinks that.”

Keselowski sprinted out to what looked to be an insurmountable lead over the race’s final laps after a late restart for Danica Patrick’s engine failure. But his car slowed dramatically over the final three laps, allowing Truex to close in and make the winning pass with two laps to go. He tweeted after the race that something in the right-front wheel assembly went amiss in the closing stages.

Both Keselowski and Truex had the fastest cars throughout the entire race. They were in the top three for much of the afternoon and Truex won both the first and second stages. His sweep makes him the first Cup Series driver to win a race and both of its stages in NASCAR’s new race format.
