Kelsey Mitchell, Damiris Dantas out for start of Fever training camp
INDIANAPOLIS --- The Fever started training camp on Sunday, but Kelsey Mitchell and Damiris Dantas were not participants.
Mitchell, who is going into her seventh season with the Fever, suffered an ankle injury as she was training for 3x3 National Camp earlier this month, head coach Christie Sides said on Sunday.
"Right before she was supposed to go to 3x3, she was getting work in and got an ankle injury," Sides said. "She's working, and it's day to day. I mean, she was out there today. You guys saw her on the bike and getting shots up. But she's really getting there faster than we thought."

Mitchell took individual shots during practice while her teammates were taking a break, but she didn't participate in any team drills. Sides didn't provide a specific timeline for when Mitchell would be back.
Dantas is not in Indianapolis yet because of issues with her visa, a league source confirmed. Roberta Rodrigues of Beta Basket reported that Dantas, who is a Brazilian citizen and played in Turkey over the offseason, should have her visa by Monday, allowing her to travel to the U.S. for camp.
Mitchell and Dantas are on protected contracts with the Fever, meaning Indiana would need to pay their contracts even if they were cut because of skill or injuries. Mitchell is expected to slot back into the starting lineup when she returns, while Dantas will back up forwards Aliyah Boston and NaLyssa Smith.
