Kansas football offensive line could add versatility with latest transfer from SEC
LAWRENCE — Kansas football’s competition along the offensive line added a new player Saturday, with multiple reports outlining Bryce Foster’s commitment to the Jayhawks.
Foster, a Texas A&M transfer, spent the past few seasons in the Southeastern Conference with the Aggies. He is a former 247Sports Composite four-star prospect out of high school, and rated as a three-star talent by 247Sports in the transfer portal. He is a multi-year starter who started all 12 of his appearances for Texas A&M at center in 2023 after his 2022 season was cut short due to injury.

“Rock Chalk,” Foster has listed in his bio on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
Foster’s experience at center is a critical piece to Foster’s commitment to Kansas. The Jayhawks, aiming to compete for a Big 12 Conference championship, have not finalized who will be their starter in that spot. Senior Michael Ford Jr. and redshirt senior Shane Bumgardner have been the two front-runners on the roster.
Ford has spent the past couple seasons at Kansas as a regular starter at guard, but has also been someone who’s shown the versatility to move further inside if the team needs. Bumgardner is a transfer from Tiffin, where he was named the Division II center of the year this past season.
Foster will have to play catch-up to a certain degree, but brings with him a pedigree of success at the power-conference level that could allow the Jayhawks to keep Ford at guard, if Foster can earn the job or at least be tabbed to back up Bumgardner.
Foster was named a freshman All-American by multiple outlets in 2021, and he also made the SEC's all-freshman team.
