Tyreek Hill erupts for 203 receiving yards, 2 TDs in first quarter vs. Buccaneers
Tyreek Hill wasted no time on Sunday afternoon.
The Kansas City Chiefs receiver took over their 27-24 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers almost instantly — and set an NFL record in the process.
Hill racked up 203 receiving yards and two touchdowns on seven catches in the first quarter alone at Raymond James Stadium, a dominant outburst that the Bucs had no answer for.

Hill caught a 34-yard pass from Patrick Mahomes on their very first play of the game — and had a 23-yard grab a few snaps later — to set up a 19-yard field goal to give the Chiefs a quick 3-0 lead.
Then later in the quarter, after forcing a Bucs punt, Mahomes connected with Hill for a deep 75-yard touchdown to put K.C. up 10-0.

On the Chiefs’ next drive, Hill pulled in three passes — including a 44-yard touchdown, which he celebrated accordingly with a backflip into the end zone.
That grab brought him to seven catches and 203 yards on the day, and there was still time to spare in the opening quarter.

Hill even imitated Shannon Sharpe’s legendary “We are killing the Patriots!” trash talk on the sideline.

Hill became the third player in the past 30 years to have at least 200 receiving yards in a single quarter — joining Qadry Ismail and Lee Evans — and the first person to do so with at least seven receptions. Ismail had 210 yards in a quarter with the Ravens in 1999, and Evans had 205 for the Bills in a quarter in 2006.
The Chiefs held to secure their sixth straight win despite a 14-point fourth quarter Bucs rally. Hill finished the day with 269 yards on 13 receptions and three touchdowns. He was targeted 15 times in the win, too. Mahomes racked up 462 passing yards while going 37 of 49 through the air. All three of his touchdown passes went to Hill.
