Kansas City Chiefs lineman Charles Omenihu gives Texas football another Super Bowl winner
To close out the weekend, Texas football added another NFL champion to its alumni association.
When the Kansas City Chiefs knocked off the San Francisco 49ers in overtime Sunday night to win Super Bowl 58, it also made a champion of former Longhorns defensive lineman Charles Omenihu, who's on the Chiefs roster.
Omenihu did not play in the Super Bowl because of an ACL Injury that he suffered in the AFC championship game. But on Sunday night, he was able to pose with the Lombardi Trophy for a picture that he posted on social media.

There have now been 33 Super Bowl titles won by 28 former Texas players. Terry Orr, Dan Neil, Casey Hampton, Aaron Ross and Malcom Brown are UT's only two-time champions.
Omenihu wasn't the only player with a Texas tie for the Chiefs. Keaontay Ingram, who spent three seasons at Texas before he transferred to USC, is a running back on the Kansas City practice squad. Former UT defensive lineman Keondre Coburn was taken by the Chiefs in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL draft, but he was waived in October. Coburn later spent a month on Kansas City's practice squad before he was signed by Tennessee.
