Kansas baseball vs Kansas State recap: Jayhawks earn Big 12 tournament win against rival

LAWRENCE — Kansas baseball opened its Big 12 Conference tournament stay Tuesday with a game against rival Kansas State in Arlington, Texas.

The Jayhawks and Wildcats met earlier this season for a three-game series at KSU, during which KU won once and lost twice. Kansas, a No. 7 seed, followed that with a series win at home against Houston and a series defeat on the road against Texas. Kansas State, a No. 6 seed, followed that with a series loss on the road against West Virginia and a series win at home against BYU.
