Kaiir Elam injury: Buffalo Bills cornerback injured giving up catch to Tyreek Hill
Buffalo Bills cornerback Kaiir Elam suffered an injury in the third quarter against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
Elam was beat on a 28-yard completion to Tyreek Hill from Tua Tagoaviloa along the left sideline.
Hill beat Elam on the play. Tagovailoa didn't lead Hill enough for a touchdown but the Dolphins wide receiver adjusted to the ball as it went over the outstretched arms of Hill.
Elam and Hill tumbled out of bounds and Elam remained down after the play.
Elam was initially ruled questionable to return with a shoulder injury. He missed the rest of the Dolphins' possession but returned to the field for the next drive.
Elam is a 2022 first round pick by the Bills. He entered the game with more special teams snaps (39) than defensive snaps (26) this season but got his first start o the year due to the absence of injured Christian Benford.
Elam played 13 games as a rookie with 41 tackles and two interceptions but was placed in injured reserve for seven games in 2023 and finished the season with 14 tackles in three games. He came into the matchup against the Dolphins with 4 tackles and one pass defensed.
