Juan Toscano-Anderson reacts to Klay Thompson being called overpaid
Former Golden State Warriors champion Juan Toscano-Anderson shared his distaste for Klay Thompson being listed among the most overpaid NBA players. Recently, HoopsHype released an article listing the league’s most overpaid stars based on their on-court production vs. salary. Thompson was ranked in the top three most overrated players, along with Gordon Hayward and John Wall.
Unlike Hayward and Wall, Thompson has four NBA championships to his name, a fact that Toscano-Anderson was quick to mention as he shared his thoughts on X (formerly known as Twitter.) It’s also worth remembering that Toscano-Anderson’s only championship came while playing alongside Thompson for the Warriors.
“Y’all really put a 4 time champ on an “overpaid” list,” Toscano-Anderson posted. “… I hate the internet man”

Toscano-Anderson spent three seasons with the Warriors between 2019 and 2022 before splitting last season between the Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz. The 30-year-old wing has developed a reputation for being a hard-nosed defender who will grind out results for his team.
Toscano-Anderson has only participated in the playoffs on one occasion. However, he clearly saw enough from Thompson to know that the Warriors star is worth every bit of his $189.9 million deal.
Thompson has high hopes for the upcoming season and recently told fans in China that he will return next year with a fifth championship ring, which would surely end any debate regarding his career earnings vs. his career impact.
