Jose Aldo reacts to UFC Hall of Fame induction: ‘This was very emotional for me’

LAS VEGAS – Jose Aldo had quite the induction into the UFC Hall of Fame.

The former UFC featherweight champion walked out alongside photos of some of his career highlights, and was greeted by a welcoming fan base before he was inducted into the Modern Wing of the UFC Hall of Fame. It was quite the scene.

“Yes, it was very emotional,” Aldo told MMA Junkie Radio. “It’s my dream, man. The first dream was the UFC championship, but the goal is to give more than the dream. … This was very emotional for me.”

Aldo added,

“Always in my career, the fans were together with me, always. They support me, and I’m feeling the emotion.”

Aldo retired in August 2022, following a decision loss to Merab Dvalishvili. He left the sport with a record of 31-8. Aldo is regarded by many as the greatest featherweight of all time. Aldo defended the 145-pound title seven consecutive times after he was promoted UFC champion in the UFC-WEC merger in 2011.
