Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid helped Team USA get the job done. Despite dealing with a ton of criticism for his decision to play for the Americans rather than play for France, Embiid fought through all of that to make a contribution in this Olympic run.

Embiid was fantastic in the semifinals against Serbia scoring seven of his 19 points in the fourth quarter and his defensive effort on Serbian star Nikola Jokic was terrific. He had four points against France on Saturday, but he made quite a few defensive plays to help Team USA win the gold medal with a 98-87 win.

The big fella then took to Instagram to react to winning his first gold medal. He posted pictures of his experience in France and was proud that he helped the Americans get it done.

This is a terrific experience for Embiid. He can now take what he learned from this run and bring it back to Philadelphia and help the Sixers make a title run of their own.
