Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons sound really excited to meet Lonzo and LaVar Ball
On Thursday night, Lonzo Ball officially became an NBA player, which means LaVar Ball officially became an NBA dad.
That, of course, means both are now fair game for the NBA’s most savage tweeter: Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid.
Moments after the Los Angeles Lakers selected Lonzo with the No. 2 pick in the 2017 NBA draft, Embiid and his running mate, Ben Simmons, took to Twitter to go after the Balls:
Crazy pills

Embiid’s quote tweet clarified what Simmons’ two-word tweet was a reference to:
Please dunk on him so hard that his daddy runs on the court to save him.. https://t.co/cMvt5RYiSQ

NBA fans and media have wondered for months now about the effect LaVar will have on Lonzo in the League. One of the many takes is that NBA players won’t be all that fond of LaVar, and they’ll take out their annoyance on Lonzo. Though Embiid and Simmons are most likely just having fun, this might be the best evidence yet for that theory.
But the Balls aren’t the first people, nor will they be the last people, to be roasted by Embiid, who is an absolute treasure. Nor will LaVar care. The first encounter or beef between Embiid and LaVar will surely be memorable.
