Joel Embiid advises America to 'Trust The Process' of Donald Trump's election
The United States of America experienced one of the most shocking upsets in the country’s political history on Tuesday night, as Republicans showed up at the polls en masse to buck expert projections and elect billionaire reality TV personality Donald Tump the nation’s 45th president. Consider it an embrace of his (at least) four-year plan to Make America Great Again by more than 59 million citizens.

Meanwhile, in Pennsylvania, a swing state that swung Republican for the first time since 1988, Philadelphians were well aware of another such campaign to make something great again, for the first time since the 1980s, no less: former Sixers general manager Sam Hinkie’s philosophy of building a roster so inept the franchise would continually tank its way to top-tier draft picks and ultimately land a superstar or two capable of dragging the team from the depths of the standings to respectability.
The approach came to be known as “The Process,” and throughout three straight years of 19 or fewer wins, Philadelphia’s “Trust The Process” became a mantra for those who kept the faith in Hinkie’s approach or belittled it to no end. Trust The Process is the Make America Great Again of NBA slogans.

Despite a season-threatening injury to No. 1 overall pick Ben Simmons just before the season, the emergence of former No. 3 pick Joel Embiid as a fellow potential superstar on the 76ers has fostered hope Hinkie’s tanking strategy may eventually pay dividends, so much so that the 22-year-old Cameroonian native is being introduced to the Wells Fargo Center crowd as “The Process.”
It is with all this in mind that Embiid took to Twitter in the early hours of Wednesday morning, as news outlets and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton finally began to conceded the election to Trump.
Well America is tanking!!! All we can do is Trust The Process…

How you interpret Embiid’s idea of the country “tanking” may indicate how you voted. On one hand, there are those who believe a nation with Trump as president will tank towards the bottom of the international standings. And on the other, there are those who believe by turning the system on its head and tanking the entire political establishment, the country will be better off in four years. Either way, embracing the process that has made the U.S. the epicenter of the free world isn’t the worst idea.

We should note that during the final presidential debate, when the Australian Simmons tweeted, “I can’t listen to this guy,” fellow immigrant Embiid warned, “If he wins, he’s gonna deport you.”
And, for the record, Hinkie lasted less than three years in his GM office before the NBA establishment stepped in and urged the Sixers to hire someone more qualified, namely Jerry Colangelo, in order to avoid any further embarrassment in Philadelphia. And the 76ers currently own an 0-6 record.
So, strap in, America.
