Joe Montana reportedly confronts intruder who was allegedly kidnapping his grandchild
Joe Montana isn’t just a hero on the football field, it appears he’s a hero off the field as well.
TMZ reported Sunday morning that the legendary San Francisco 49ers quarterback, who is now 64, confronted a woman who allegedly broke into the home where he and his wife were staying and tried to kidnap his young grandchild.
According to TMZ, the woman allegedly spotted someone inside holding the baby, broke into the house, and took the child from their arms. The intruder then reportedly moved to another part of the home with the baby.
Montana and his wife, Jennifer, allegedly found the intruder and confronted her. TMZ reported that they “wrestled the baby” out of the intruder’s arms. She then fled the home.
In a stroke of good fortune, Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies happened to be nearby handling an unrelated matter. TMZ reported that someone inside the house got their attention, and the deputies pursued and captured the alleged kidnapper. She was reportedly arrested on burglary and kidnapping charges.
Montana tweeted about the incident on Sunday afternoon, thanking everyone for their concern over the “scary situation” at his home.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out. Scary situation, but thankful that everybody is doing well. We appreciate respect for our privacy at this time.
