Joe Mixon making history with Texans in life after Bengals
By now, Cincinnati Bengals fans know things are going quite well for former running back Joe Mixon with the Houston Texans.
But just how well might catch them off guard.
According to Charlie Clifford of WLWT, Mixon has made history by reaching 100 rushing yards and a rushing score in four of his first five games with a new team.
Mixon, still just 28 years old, has already rushed for 503 yards and five scores on a 4.9 per-carry average over five games. Mixon reached that per-carrying average number by season's end during a season just once in Cincinnati (2018).
Clearly, Mixon has landed in the perfect scheme for his skill set and the Texans are exploiting that. In a sense, since they felt they had to move on, the Bengals at least did right by Mixon in finding him a great trade destination.
For better or worse, the Bengals wanted to go a different direction in the backfield around Joe Burrow. The results have been mixed, especially compared to Mixon's stunner of a season so far, but we'll have to at least wait and see what the season-long totals look like.
