Joe Mazzulla’s growth shone through in Boston Celtics’ loss to the Bucks

This was not the head coach we saw at the helm of the Boston Celtics last season, making decisions to win at all costs regardless of the potential impact down the road. In the Celtics’ recent blowout loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on the back end of their back-to-back overtime win over the Minnesota Timberwolves, Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla pulled the plug on his starters at halftime.

Explaining after the loss that he made the choice in light of Boston having played five games in seven days including that hard-fought win at TD Garden, the Rhode Islander let it be known that he values using the stars sparingly in situations it doesn’t make sense to slam one’s foot down on the gas pedal.

The hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics! / Talkin’ Cs” podcasts linked up to talk about how Mazzulla has grown as a coach.
