All right, we are here with seventh overall pick JJ Weather Hall drafted by the Saint Louis Cardinals.

I want you to just walk me through the, the moment of getting the phone call and hearing your name get called.

Yeah, I mean, it was, it was surreal.

So I got the phone call found out I was gonna be a Cardinal and I was just really excited.

There was a honestly about like a three minute transition where everybody knew that I was gonna be the next big and so the cameras game, but they didn't announce it yet.

So I was just sitting there like, all right, let's get it going.

Did you have your phone on sound like or do you just have it on the table open, open and saw the call?

So it was vibrating and I picked it up and found out the news.

That's great.

That's great.

So I, I do want to ask you about your shoes.

You know, we are here in Texas.

You are from Pennsylvania, but you have leaned into the theme.

Uh But my mom was honestly a country girl growing up.

So when I was younger, I really liked horses and we would do farm shows, kind of like at the house.

Um, but we were in the city so I kind of got more suburban as the years went on, came back here.

And I was like, that's gotta be the country jean, that's from my mom coming out.

But it's all the way people dress in Texas.

I really liked it.

But what are these made of, uh, I believe there's Python snake skin boots.

Um Yeah, so it, it's a good look and I got a, an ostrich leather belt on.

So we're all Texas.

Oh boy, all Texas.

Look at that.

My last question is like, what are you excited about now as you look forward to your pro career?

I mean, I, I'm obviously really excited about being with a, a so pro program and, and, and team that's just won so many games.

Um, but at the end of the day, I'm excited to get better.

You know, there's, there's a long road of me getting to the player that I wanna be.

It's gonna take a lot of hard work and dedication, but I believe I'm in the right spot.

Big day, but not the end of the road.

Correct.

This is just the beginning.
