Jets RB Breece Hall, offensive rookie of the year frontrunner, feared to have serious knee injury

The initial diagnosis of New York Jets running back Breece Hall's knee injury is "not good," according to head coach Robert Saleh, and the team fears the rookie could have torn his ACL. They will have more tests before making an official announcement, though.

Hall didn't return to the Jets' Week 7 win over the Denver Broncos after being carted off late in the second quarter. Hall exited the game after being hit on a two-yard run with 3:37 left in the second quarter. He went to the medical tent, then walked under his own power to the cart before being taken to the locker room by the medical staff.

He left the game after rushing four times for 72 yards, including an electric 62-yard touchdown in the first quarter. Hall reached a top speed of 21.87 mph on his score, which is the fastest of any ball carrier this year, according to Next Gen Stats.

In the wake of his injury news, Hall tweeted his excitement for the Jets' 16-9 win over the Broncos.

An extended absence for Hall would be brutal for the Jets. Hall is perhaps New York's top offensive weapon and led the team with 609 scrimmage yards and four total touchdowns prior to Week 7.

He is also one of, if not the frontrunner for the offensive rookie of the year award. Hall's scrimmage yardage leads all rookies (including quarterbacks) and his 412 rushing yards were second behind Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce before Week 7.
