Jerry Jones reportedly spends $110M more on yacht than he did to buy Cowboys

Here’s the latest sign that buying a major U.S. sports franchise is among the country’s best investments.

That is if you can get in to begin with, of course.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones reportedly spent $250 million on a mega-yacht measuring in at 360 feet long and complete with two helipads, a garage for water vehicles, a gym and a beach club, among other luxurious amenities.

To put the price in perspective, Jones reportedly spent $140 million to buy the Cowboys in 1989.

Ship named after Jones’ wife

The Fort Worth Star Telegram reports the ship is named Bravo Eugenia after his wife Gene Jones, while YachtHarbour.com reports that it was delivered to Jones on Dec. 20, just in time for Christmas.

Reportedly built in the Netherlands and launched in 2017, the vessel was delivered by Dutch shipyard Oceanco after going through trials on the North Sea.

Here’s a taste of what life looks like for an NFL billionaire.

The Cowboys, of course, are worth well beyond what Jones paid in 1989. Forbes listed the Cowboys as the most valuable sports franchise in the world in 2018, checking in at approximately $4.8 billion.

Being an NFL owner is nice work if you can get it.
