Jaylen Wright 40 time: Tennessee football RB puts up impressive NFL combine numbers

Tennessee football's Jaylen Wright is a springy and quick running back — attributes he put on full display at the 2024 NFL Combine on Saturday.

The Vols running back demonstrated his physical attributes in several different drills and workouts in Indianapolis, and nowhere was that more prevalent than in the 40-yard dash. After running a blazing 4.44 40 time in his first attempt, he improved it considerably on his second run, posting an unofficial time of 4.38 seconds.

According to NFL.com, Wright also measured in at just over 5-foot-10, 210 pounds and had a vertical leap of 38 inches.

Jaylen Wright broad jump

The 5-foot-10 running back recorded an impressive 11-foot, 2-inch broad jump Saturday at the NFL combine. It is the best recording of the day at the time of his testing among running backs, and fourth best overall among all draft prospects this year at the combine, per NFL.com.

According to NFL Network's Peter Schrager, Wright's broad jump is the second-longest ever recorded by a running back in NFL combine history.
