Jay Williams will not work the rest of NBA Finals due to positive COVID-19 test
NBA broadcaster Jay Williams will not analyze the rest of the NBA Finals for ESPN due to a positive COVID-19 test.
Williams revealed he tested positive despite being fully vaccinated from the virus.

Williams noted he has a daughter who is two-and-a-half years old and immunosuppressed, so his family has been "overly diligent and hyper sensitive" regarding COVID-19. Williams said testing positive serves as a reminder for everyone to continue being "as diligent as possible."
Williams said he's "doing OK." He added that he was glad he was vaccinated, "because the symptoms weren't as bad as they could have been." He'll isolate for 10 days while he recovers from the virus.
Jay Williams and Rich Eisen have tested positive for COVID-19
Williams' news comes just a day after NFL Network host Rich Eisen revealed he also tested positive for COVID-19 despite being fully vaccinated. Eisen said being vaccinated prevented him from experiencing worse symptoms. Eisen encouraged others to get vaccinated so they "won’t go to the hospital or die."
COVID cases are on the rise as a result of the Delta variant of the virus. The number of positives is lower than it was at the virus' peak. Those who are vaccinated can still catch the virus, but the vaccines have been effective in lessening symptoms.
