Could the Boston Celtics find themselves with two 2022 NBA All-Stars after all? ESPN’s Tim Bontemps reports that new Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden will not only miss all his new squad’s games ahead of the 2022 All-Star Game but the exhibition tilt itself, which means that the league will need to select a replacement to play in his stead.

Brown is not the only such player who cold be in the mix for such an honor with the likes of Jarrett Allen of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Pascal Siakam of the Toronto Raptors and several other prospective injury replacements available to fill in for Harden as well. That didn’t stop teammates Grant Williams and Jayson Tatum from advocating for Brown on Twitter, however.

Such an honor could theoretically also have financial ramifications for the Celtics, who would owe Brown $1.4 million more should he end up an All-Star.

Boston would likely still be under the tax with most estimates placing the team over a million dollars under the tax to a few thousand dollars beneath it.
