Jameis Winston carted off with 'significant' knee injury vs. Bucs, who get called for horse-collar penalty
Jameis Winston's left knee bent in a bad way as he was dragged down by the back of his jersey, and he ended up leaving Sunday's game on a cart.
Winston left Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after a tackle by Bucs linebacker Devin White. White was called for a horse-collar tackle, though he didn't grab Winston by the collar.

Winston was trying to run on a play and got 3 yards before he was dragged down from behind. He tried to walk off the field but was limping badly and went to the turf. A couple Buccaneers defenders, including White, tapped Winston in support as he was leaving the field. Winston was helped off, went to the medical tent and then was carted to the locker room.
Trevor Siemian, the former starter with the Denver Broncos, took over. Taysom Hill, Winston's main backup, is still out due to a concussion suffered three weeks ago. Winston was listed as questionable with a knee injury at halftime and was later ruled out for the rest of the game, which ended with a thrilling win for the Saints behind Siemian.
Head coach Sean Payton told reporters after the game he believed the injury to be "significant." Meanwhile, Winston was seen on crutches while dancing in the locker room:

Winston was trying to revive his career this season after an unceremonious end with the Buccaneers and a 2020 season playing behind Drew Brees. He won the starting job in training camp and had 14 touchdowns and just three interceptions for the Saints, who were 4-2 before Sunday's game.
