Cincinnati Bengals star wideout Ja'Marr Chase hasn't had much to say just yet as the team begins prep for the Week 1 game against the New England Patriots.

Officialy, anyway.

Tuesday, one day removed from being a "hold-in" during Monday's practice amid his contract standoff with the team, Chase took to social media and posted an image that caught the eyes of fans.

Said image, posted in an Instagram story, featured a child clearly entertained by something on a phone.

Given the endless speculation from fans and reports from NFL insiders about the whole ordeal, reactions were understandably all over the place:

Beyond suggestive social media posts, the most fans have as of late is a report suggesting the "stalemate" between Chase and the team was broken. That, and that the Bengals have upped their efforts to get an extension done before the season.

Wednesday will be a critical day for fans to watch. If Chase doesn't take part in the first full-blown practice and is on the sidelines while more social media messages appear, it's pretty telling where things stand. Even so, this running all the way up to the Saturday before the season kicks off wouldn't be a shocker at this point.
