Jalen Williams is having best OKC Thunder's 3-point season ever. See the top-10 list.

Yes, it would be fun to see Isaiah Joe in the 3-point contest, but the Thunder had another deserving participant already in Indianapolis for All-Star Weekend.

Jalen Williams.

It’s weird. When I think of the Thunder’s best pure 3-point shooter, my automatic answer is Joe. It’s the volume of attempts, it’s the wondrous arc on Joe’s shot, it’s the roar that ensues at Paycom Center after every Joe splash.

But very quietly, Jalen Williams is amid what would be the most accurate 3-point season in Thunder history.

Never has the Thunder had a player finish top-five in 3-point percentage for a season, but at 45.3% from deep, J-Dub ranks fifth in the NBA behind Phoenix’s Grayson Allen (48.2%), Memphis’ Luke Kennard (45.5%), and a Clippers duo of Kawhi Leonard and Norman Powell, both tied with Williams at 45.3%, albeit with a slight decimal advantage.

Oklahoma City's Jalen Williams is hitting 45.3% of his 3-point attempts this season.
Oklahoma City's Jalen Williams is hitting 45.3% of his 3-point attempts this season.

Williams’ 159 attempts are the fewest among those five, including Kennard, who’s attempted 165 3-pointers in just 27 games. Williams has played in 48 games.

In total 3-point attempts, Williams is fifth on the Thunder behind Lu Dort (251), Joe (232), Chet Holmgren (229) and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (175).

Williams is only attempting 3.3 3-pointers per game.

To qualify for the NBA leaderboard, players must make a minimum of 82 3-pointers — at least one per game. Currently at 72 makes, Williams is a cinch to qualify.

If he keeps this pace over the final 28 games, Williams will have a top line in the Thunder record book. Joe won’t be far behind. Neither will the rook.
