Jackson State women's basketball coach Tomekia Reed joins NCAA Division I Oversight Committee
Jackson State women's basketball coach Tomekia Reed has been selected as a member of the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Oversight Committee.
The committee is responsible for ensuring that the appropriate oversight of NCAA Division I women's basketball is maintained, for enhancing the development and public perception of the sport. It also makes recommendations to the regular-season and postseason competition committees regarding such things as rule changes and administration of the championship tournament.
The committee also looks for ways to enhance the student-athlete educational and athletic experience. In doing so, promotes personal growth and leadership development.

In five seasons, Reed has a 99-47 record at Jackson State. She has won two SWAC tournament titles and been to the NCAA Tournament (2021, 2022) and to the WNIT this past season. Reed has guided Jackson State to five consecutive Southwestern Athletic Conference tournament berths.
Jackson State has played in four conference tournament finals and last season, Reed guided Jackson State to its fourth consecutive SWAC regular-season title.
