EPL star reportedly crashes car less than 24 hours after urging people to stay home amid coronavirus

Aston Villa star Jack Grealish has apologized for being involved in a car crash just hours after telling others to stay home to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Grealish said he “stupidly agreed” to meet a friend. The 24-year-old also said he was “embarrassed” by the situation. He used the opportunity to urge people to stay home so they don’t make his mistake.

The last point is exactly what Grealish told people to do before he was involved in the crash. On Saturday, Grealish released a video telling fans to remain indoors and save lives.

The following day, Grealish’s Range Rover reportedly collided with two cars. Pictures of the incident show a damaged Range Rover and another picture in which Grealish is standing off to the side. Police are investigating the incident.

Aston Villa released a statement Monday saying the team is “deeply disappointed” in Grealish’s actions. Grealish will be fined — with the money going to charity — for the incident.
