Ja Morant returns to IG Live for first time since two NBA suspensions: 'I'm at y'all neck'
Ja Morant has essentially spent the past 16 months showing only bits and pieces of the personality and flare that helped him elevate to one of the NBA's brightest stars. Now, the Memphis Grizzlies point guard is putting his past mishaps behind him.
At 12:01 a.m. Monday, Morant joined Instagram Live on his account for the first time since May 2023. That was the second IG Live video in which Morant appeared to brandish a gun. As a result, he was handed a 25-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the league.

"I told them 12 back on live but this ain't that type of live, man" Morant said from a gym. "Hoop live. Let y'all know we coming."
Morant threw down dunks and was working out in the live video. His father, Tee Morant, and agent Mike Miller were among those in attendance.
Memphis will begin preseason training camp on Tuesday in Nashville, Tennessee. The first preseason game will take place on Oct. 7 against the Dallas Mavericks.
That game could be the first time fans have seen Morant in action since January when he had surgery on his right shoulder and missed the remainder of the season.
Before logging off of IG Live, Morant shared one more message.
"Yeah, man, checking in," Morant said. "This the good live, not the bad one. Real ones winning. And I'm at y'all neck."
