Ja Morant, Desmond Bane react to Memphis Grizzlies' Zach Edey pick in NBA draft
Memphis Grizzlies players are excited about the newest addition to their team.
Ja Morant, Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr. each went on social media to share their reaction to the Grizzlies drafting Zach Edey with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft on Wednesday.
"LETS GOOOOO," Bane posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, minutes after the pick was made.
Jackson's expression was simpler. He posted three salute emojis to give his approval of the newest Grizzly.
Morant was far more expressive while welcoming his new 7-foot-4 teammate. The star Grizzlies point guard used a reference from "Rush Hour 3." Morant shared a scene where detective James Carter, played by Chris Tucker, was looking up and reacting to the massive height of a kid in a karate class after opening a door.
Edey can fill a massive need at center. He averaged 25.2 points and 12.2 rebounds in his senior year at Purdue, leading the Boilermakers to the national championship game.
