Isaiah Thomas, former Ohio State guard Wyatt Davis among 16 in Browns' initial roster cuts
The Browns have started the process of whittling down the roster, announcing they had waived 16 players on Monday.
The 16 players who were released:
S Tyler Coyle
G Wyatt Davis
K Lucas Havrisik
CB Faion Hicks
LB Landon Honeycutt
LB Caleb Johnson
G Zack Johnson
DE Jeremiah Martin
T Roy Mbaeteka
LB Marvin Moody
T Chim Okorafor
RB Aidan Robbins
RB Jacob Saylors
LS Rex Sunahara
DE Isaiah Thomas
S Chase Williams (injury designation)
Thomas may be the biggest "name" on the list, having been selected in the seventh round of the 2022 draft. He played 10 games as a rookie that season, but was a cutdown day casualty a year ago as well.
Also Monday, they announced five players who had been out all of training camp had passed their physicals: safety D’Anthony Bell, offensive tackle Jack Conklin, cornerback Greg Newsome II, defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson and offensive tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. Head coach Kevin Stefanski had previously announced their returns earlier in the day on a Zoom call.
The Browns have until 4 p.m. Tuesday to get their roster to the initial 53-man limit.
