Indiana Fever's Aliyah Boston to make broadcasting debut as studio analyst on Peacock

INDIANAPOLIS -- After a successful rookie season, Indiana Fever center Aliyah Boston is going to try her hand at broadcasting.

NBC announced Monday that Boston, the 2023 WNBA Rookie of the Year, will appear as a studio analyst for Big Ten women's basketball games on Peacock, the network's streaming service. Peacock will air over 20 Big Ten women's basketball games this season, including some in the postseason.

Boston is coming off a historic opening season in the WNBA, as she was the first rookie in league history to lead all players with a .578 shooting percentage. She was the fifth rookie in the league's 27-year history to unanimously win Rookie of the Year.

The University South Carolina product played in the SEC throughout her college career, and she will be analyzing the Big Ten's top teams, including Iowa, Indiana and Ohio State. Megan McKeown, an analyst and play-by-play broadcaster for Big Ten Network and ESPN, will join her in the studio, and NBC's Carolyn Manno will host the show.

Following the announcement on Monday, Boston said, "So blessed" and "another door that God has opened" on X.

Boston started her broadcasting career Monday, appearing at Big Ten Basketball Media Days in Minneapolis. Cindy Brunson, a play-by-play broadcaster for the Phoenix Mercury, Athletes Unlimited, and NBC, also said that Boston is considering playing for Athletes Unlimited this winter.

Athletes Unlimited is another professional basketball league in the United States that plays in the winter. There are 44 players throughout the league, and four captains draft new rosters each week to play against each other. Boston's teammate, NaLyssa Smith, was a captain last season, and won the AU championship.
