Hubert Davis, North Carolina watch a pair of five-star recruits

Hubert Davis and the North Carolina Tar Heels are off to a hot start this season with an 11-3 record including 3-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

After getting a big road win at Clemson on Saturday, Davis hit the recruiting trail as he had two targets in the 2025 recruiting class that he wanted to watch in person. Davis headed to Versailles, Kentucky for the Court XIV classic which featured UNC commit James Brown as well as five-star recruits in the 2025 class Jasper Johnson and Darryn Peterson.

Davis took in the game between Link Academy and Huntington Prep, getting to watch the recruits in person to scout them:

Both Johnson and Peterson have offers from North Carolina. Johnson is a combo guard who is ranked No. 10 overall in the 247Sports rankings while Peterson is the No. 3 ranked player in the rankings per the site.

Davis wasn’t the only coach in attendance, however. Kentucky’s John Calipari hit the road for a short drive to watch the prospects as well.
